Smartphone or Tablet Set Up
Follow these three steps to set up MFA on your smartphone or tablet
Step 1 - Check device compatibility
Important: you must check whether your device is compatible with the latest version of Duo Mobile before proceeding with a download.
If you have already checked compatibility, skip to Step 2.
You may need to update your device before you can complete installing the app.
Check the operating system (OS) compatibility information:
Note: If you’re unable to download the Duo App due to the Google Play store being blocked/unavailable in your country, then please read Duo's article for instructions to download and use the Duo App.
Step 2 - Download and install the Duo Mobile App
Access the Apple Store and Google Play Store as appropriate via the url links in Step 1.
My newly installed Duo Mobile App is asking for a QR code to add an account - what should I do?
You should not attempt to manually add your University account to the app. Instead, once you've downloaded the app, go to Step 3 and opt-in to see step-by-step instructions.
Step 3 - Opt-in and enrol your IT account
You should now opt-in* and enrol your personal university IT account now.
*You may have been opted in automatically, if so, after clicking the following 'enrol now' button you will be shown a message confirming this on screen.
Important: please read before you opt-in.
You must follow steps 1 and 2 first.
Once started, you must complete this enrolment process in order to maintain access to your university IT account.
You must have a mobile phone or tablet with you to complete the enrolment process.
We recommend opting in via a desktop/laptop browser rather than on your phone/tablet. After opting in, please ensure you log back into MUSE once more to complete the setup. Instructions are provided on-screen, and the whole process should only take a couple of minutes. Once you’ve enrolled a device, future logins will be protected by Duo.
